Best of Vermont Fall Foliage PDF Print E-mail

Vermont Fall Foliage,
renowned the world over.

Vermont countryside becomes a tapestry of rich and saturated color during Fall Foliage, that sweet three to four week period when the leave change again a splendid backdrop of blue sky, still-green fields, and white fences and red barns.

Of course there is no better way to capture this mood than from a canoe. We give you the change to see, feel, touch, smell and hear Autumn's manifestations while floating down an isolated river, through the woods and fields, watching them again as they are reflected up from the river.

It is truly a magical time for the senses...for seeing, feeling, smelling, touching and hearing. The air is pure, a bit snappy in the morning, warm in the afternoon, crisp and tingly at night. Crickets fiddle, and locusts sing. The aroma of fresh pies is overwhelming, cider tastes fresh and clean pressed from new apples.

The leaves are at center stage, turning red, yellow and orange. They're surrounded by a chorus of supporting color: red apples, orange pumpkins, grey stone walls, white fences, and weathered gray barns that bulge with the recent harvest.

Like romance, this season can not be described on a bumper sticker, or experienced from the road. There is simply no way to capture the magic, other than from a canoe, off the roads. We combine our knowledge of the sweetest places to paddle in Vermont with the brilliance of golden autumn leaves, and gracious country Inns for that special blend of Vermont hospitality.

WE stay at three great Inns, Visit their web site for more details.
